Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2 Dragon Bash
Delyndia

Betting on Moe races, Mount racing, Pinata bashing, bashing holographic Dragons And more!

Hey guys Delyndia here.

Dragon Bash is a guild wars 2 event that first happened back in the summer of 2013 after Zhaitan’s defeat in your personal story.

With the defeat of  Kralkatorrik in living world season 4 and pace again at last we can celebrate with Dragon Bash once again.

The first Dragon Bash was hosted in Lion’s Arch.

And now that Kralkatorrik has been defeated Hoelbrak is hosting Dragon Bash.

With dragon bash comes many events, achievements and an event currency called Zhaitaffy that you can trade in for a different currency called Jawbreakers.

Zhaitaffy can be used to buy rewards,  you can trade in 1,000 Zhaitaffy for one Jawbreaker and use them to buy better rewards.

And if you get tired of playing the Dragon bash events you can jump over to a competitive game mode and there will be a Dragon bash reward track waiting for you to start.

I don’t have much else to say I haven’t played that much to look into anything so once I play more, I will have more to write.

So that’s it and goodbye.

The SkyScale New GW2 flying mount
Delyndia

May 13, 2019

Hey guys Delyndia here and today we are going to be talking about the new dragon mount the Skyscale.

Here are the questions I have.

Will the Griffin still be worth the 250 gold plus all the time it takes to do all of the collections?
Well according to Guild chat episode 83 streamed on May 3rd, No each will have its own purpose.

Does this mean Aurene is coming back?
I don’t know but it would be nice Anet, especially now that I could fly with her.

Will there be dragon races?
Well I have not found any information on it so we will have to wait and see.

Will we have to do a lot of collections?  Pay a lot of gold? Or will it be like the Roller beetle, and be apart of this Living World episode being released May 14th?
Well I have no answer for this one, we have not been given any information on this yet.

Will you always need to have energy to fly or will you be able to fly in the air as long as you like?
Yes, you can stay in the air as long as you want.

Can you fly as high as you want?
Although you can stay in the air as long as you want, you can’t fly as high as you want.

Why can’t you fly as high as you want?
Well there is thing called a flight cap, you can go to a certain height depending on how high you already are.

Is there a way to get higher up?
Yes, once you get your masteries leveled up you can grip on mountains and use your jump key (Whatever you have it set to) to  launch of the cliff and try to get to some point that you can land and this will rest your flight cap.

Ok but what’s the catch with this, it can’t be that easy?
When your gripping on the mountain your energy does not refill.

What about using the Bond of Vigor ability?
You can use the Bond of Vigor ability, and it will fill up your energy and some of your flight cap temporarily. But when your flight cap goes back down, you will return back to your original flight cap and Bond of Vigor will not recharge if you are gripping on a cliff.

Okay so those are the questions I had, and the answers I found. I can’t wait for the new Living World episode and the Skyscale coming out tomorrow May 14th, to get the Skyscale and find the answers to my unanswered questions.

Well that’s it guys have a great day and bye.

Warclaw Delay and Layoffs?
Delyndia

February 27, 2019

Today ArenaNet put out a post on their official Guild Wars 2 forums with information on the delay of the update for the Warclaw and recent layoffs. You can click here to read there post or you can stay here and read my short version.

So first the Warclaw.

Basically the Warclaw was delayed because of the layoffs they made and they will be re-evaluateing their schedules “to make sure that our releases are realistic and allow us the time to make sure they hit our internal quality bar.”

SO… now to the layoffs, this will be a lot off quoting.

On ArenaNet’s post they said “The studio has recently been affected by layoffs, which is going to take some time to process. There’s no easy way for any team to adjust to that. We’ve had to say goodbye to friends and colleagues that we’ve worked alongside for years. We’re welcoming back some familiar faces to the Guild Wars 2 team that had been working on unannounced projects. After all is said and done, it’s going to take some time for us to adjust to our staffing changes.”

Okay yeah, ArenaNet has let go of some of their employees and it is taking effect on there release of the Warclaw.

OKAY…yes I was really looking forward to the Warclaw, and i’m really bummed out about the update for it being delayed.

So why are they laying off their employees, this is what I found.  According to Kotaku, article on February 21, 2019, the CEO of NCSoft West which owns ArenaNet stated:

“Our live game business revenue is declining as our franchises age, delays in development on PC and mobile have created further drains against our revenue projects, while our operating costs in the west have increased”, and “ Where we are is not sustainable, and is not going to set us up for future success”.

Now this what I found from PCGAMER after they contacted ArenaNet on February 21, 2019.

In response to our inquiry, ArenaNet issued the following statement:

“We can confirm that due to the cancellation of unannounced projects, ArenaNet will make staff reductions. This is part of a larger organizational restructuring within NCSoft in the west, but the Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 game services will not be affected, nor is any upcoming game content canceled.”

The studio declined to comment on the number of employees affected by the cuts.”

So basically what I get out of this, NCSoft is consolidating for the future of the company and ArenaNet is stating our game will continue on.

So what does this mean for our beloved game?

Well…. ”The Guild Wars 2 team is still committed to bringing content and feature updates to the game. The next episodes of Living World are already in development, Swiss tournament support is coming to PvP, we’re looking at more WvW events coming soon, and the return of the Super Adventure Festival is imminent. Our long-term plans for the game like World Restructuring and large-scale improvements to quality of life are still in the works.”

So WvW is going to get their oversized cat mount next week, delayed but it’s still coming…thankfully. So what about Living world, I mean will  Aurene magicly come back from the dead OR did AreuaNet seriously just kill off my dragon!

Okay okay fine…I guess i’ll stop complaining about it.

Anyway, back to Living world, this is what i found out.

From there post on their official Guild Wars 2 forum on February 22, 2019:

“We know you have a lot of questions about the future of Guild Wars 2. We want to share with you what to expect moving forward for the game. First and foremost, we are still fully committed to all of our players and ongoing support of the game. We will be moving directly from Living World Season 4 into Season 5 as promised, and we plan to continue a regular cadence of updates and releases.”

Well that about all for now on this subject. I got to vent about the Warclaw being delayed and ArenaNet killing off my dragon and not even giving out a free Aurene plush mini for completing the chapter. I mean, come on, something would have been nice.  But, they are saying things will get better and I sure hope so this game has become a good part of my life and I have played it for years.

Okay, so that’s all for now. Bye

Guild Wars 2 layoffs and delays, what does this mean for our beloved game?
Tamania

The rumors are true, ArenaNet has confirmed that there are going to be layoffs but how many is still unknown. They put out a post on the official Guild Was 2 forum today that confirms that the delay in the Warclaw is directly related to this layoff. They also state that all this is for the good of the company and that Guild Wars 2 will continue with new content in areas of PvP, WvW and Living world 4 ending with Living World 5 coming directly after.

This is what Mile Zadorojny posted on the official Guild Wars 2 Forum on February 27, 2019:
Update From the Guild Wars 2 Team:
“Hi everyone,
This past week there have been a lot of questions about the status of Guild Wars 2. I’d like to share with you a little about what’s currently going on at the studio and what it means for the game.
The Guild Wars 2 team is still committed to bringing content and feature updates to the game. The next episodes of Living World are already in development, Swiss tournament support is coming to PvP, we’re looking at more WvW events coming soon, and the return of the Super Adventure Festival is imminent. Our long-term plans for the game like World Restructuring and large-scale improvements to quality of life are still in the works.
The studio has recently been affected by layoffs, which is going to take some time to process. There’s no easy way for any team to adjust to that. We’ve had to say goodbye to friends and colleagues that we’ve worked alongside for years. We’re welcoming back some familiar faces to the Guild Wars 2 team that had been working on unannounced projects. After all is said and done, it’s going to take some time for us to adjust to our staffing changes.
As the proverbial dust settles in the next few days we’re going to re-evaluate our schedules to make sure that our releases are realistic and allow us the time to make sure they hit our internal quality bar. This means that some updates are going to see delays, like the recent Warclaw, as we regain our focus.
I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you who have reached out in support of our studio family. Thank you for your patience in this trying time. We’re making every effort to keep things running as smoothly as possible and stay on track with releases. Rest assured that ArenaNet is not done with Guild Wars. And the team is not done with our tale of dragons, or our eternal conflict in the mists. There’s still lots for us to do together.
We’ll see you in Tyria,
z & the Guild Wars 2 Team”

So what does it mean? How many employees are getting severance packages and told to pack up?

According to PCGamer, from an update to their original article on February 21, 2019. They state that “In response to our inquiry, ArenaNet issued the following statement:
“We can confirm that due to the cancellation of unannounced projects, ArenaNet will make staff reductions. This is part of a larger organizational restructuring within NCSOFT in the west, but the Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 game services will not be affected, nor is any upcoming game content canceled.”
The studio declined to comment on the number of employees affected by the cuts”.
And from Kotaku update to their February 21, 2019 article, “ArenaNet management addressed employees directly in two meetings this afternoon, according to people who were there. There’s still no word on how many people will be laid off, and most employees are still in limbo as they wait to find out if they’ll be affected” and that “ArenaNet told employees it will be giving out severance of two months to anyone losing their jobs, as well as bonus time based on tenure with the company”.

So what does the future hold for Guild Wars 2? We will have to see. They say things will get better, the game will continue and ArenaNet will endure. I hope so, Guild Wars 2 has become part of a family past-time but only time will tell.

GW2 WvW: My thoughts on the Warclaw.
Delyndia

Update : February 25, 2019

GW2 ArenaNet Team just updated the release of the Warclaw on the official GW2 forums, click here to see for yourself.

The brief version, the release date has been changed to March 5, 2019. They don’t state if the double WvW experience will be delayed as well but in my opinion i do not expect it to start tomorrow either. In my belief it will start with the release of the Warclaw on March 5th, but we will have to wait to see.

——————————————————————————————————————–

Hey guys Delyndia here and today i’m going to be giving my thought about the new Warclaw that’s going to be added to WvW this Tuesday, February, 26, 2019.

So yeah the Warclaw…I think it will be very interesting, it’s kinda getting the same response the glider did when it was first added to WvW.

They will have to make it balanced and try, or at least try, and make sure that when they make it public that there are not too many glitches. That could ruin it all.  I mean come on, how many people are going to play if the enemy can just go on there oversized cat and run through there walls and/or gates.

If they do it right, it could be really cool but if they don’t…well have fun anet.  WvW will be even more empty than it was before.
